HARDIKNAS IN KUPANG REGENCY: PARTICIPANTS OF FLAG CEREMONY READ 5000 BOOKS

5.000 books were given for the flag ceremony participants on celebration of HARDIKNAS in Kupang regency

National education day which was celebrated on May 2, 2016 ago used by Media Pendidikan Cakrawala NTT (MPC NTT) as a moment to realize all education components in Kupang regency that literacy is a matter that must be fought in order to improve education quality in NTT Province. On flag ceremony held in Fatuleu Tengah field, MPC NTT gave 5.000 books for all of the flag ceremony participants. All the participants who are the students of elementary schools, the students of junior high schools and also the students of senior high school in Kupang regency were given chance to read the books during 10 minutes after the flag ceremony.

The regent of Kupang regency, Ayub Titu Eki appreciated that event. He also motivated MPC NTT to continue all the literacy programs of MPC NTT. In the same moment, the secretary of PPO Department of Kupang regency, Eliazer Teuf thanked for all things done by MPC NTT in improving education quality in Kupang regency. According to him, 5.000 books gave for people to read in a moment is not an easy thing, so he hoped that the moment can be seen by the students as a motivation for them in improving literacy culture.

10 minutes for reading is not a long time, but 10 minutes can sensitize all participants of the ceremony that reading can be done anytime. (Yupiter/JKo)
