TRADITIONAL SONG, A WAY TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING

SMPN Satu Atap Riangpuho-Flores Timur regency held a traditional vocal group competition on November 7^th, 2015. Every class sent one representation to follow this competition. The aim of this competition is to introduce the traditional songs for the students and also to improve the students’ ability in singing the song.

Wilem Kopong Tupen (Vice head master of SMPN Satu Atap Riangpuho) appreciated this competition, because this competition can improve students’ talent. He also gave thanks to Elisabeth Brinu and Maria Imakulata Paun who gave chance for students to improve their talent by making this competition.

Hopefully this competition can improve students’ understanding about their culture.
